FEATURED VENDORS

"Talking about our wedding day still brings tears to my eyes. It was a seriously incredible experience. One of my most cherished moments is walking down the aisle, seeing Andrew for the first time and just knowing this was really it. It was the moment of that day for me and a feeling I will always remember.

The first thing on our list was to choose a venue. Now, this one was a biggy for us. We knew we wanted the ceremony and reception outdoors, with all of the beautiful things nature has to offer surrounding us all day. We saw it as an opportunity to truly have Colorado be apart of every aspect of our day. We originally went to see The Lyons Farmette, mostly because Hope had done a wedding there and I absolutely fell in love with it. While we were there, the owners of the venue asked if we would like to see their “other” venue that was just in the design phase. Cautiously, we agreed, being that I am a planner without a creative mind. A little history is needed here. The land the soon-to-be venue sat on was once a mobile home park right along the St. Vrain river in Lyons, Colorado. After the devastating floods Colorado experienced in September of 2013, the mobile home park was destroyed. After cleaning up the damage, both physically and emotionally, the owners decided it would be a spectacular place for a venue. And after some much need love and care, a once devastated mobile home park with wrecked homes, severe land damage and even more devastated morale, it was miraculously turned into easily one of the most gorgeous wedding venues in Colorado. And boy, were my husband and I glad we took a gamble on the River Bend!

Of course, as many brides know from experience, there are so many details of weddings that come up that you never would think of in a million years, but Hope had everything covered and up until the last song had been played and the last glass of champagne had been drunk, she was there covering everything and making all our our dreams and visions come to life. After choosing our venue, everything really came together so easily. Picking our photographer, another very big choice for us, was easy as soon as we met Jamie. Her pictures truly speak for themselves, and she has an amazing personality to match-which made our decision so easy. Choosing our florist was also a no brainer. The Perfect Petal is a florist my family has used for years for a variety of occasions and their work is truly one of a kind, it was our first choice and we were so incredibly lucky to be able to work with their amazing and talented staff. We were also so fortunate to work with caterers from A Spice of Life, who saw our love for family and food and let us get by with, dare I say it, not having a vegetable. Serving our meal family style was such a great decision, it let our guests be able to relax and converse over really good comfort food. Everything turned out more than we could have asked, mostly because of the incredible vendors we worked with.

Not only were the venue, photographer, flowers and food more than amazing, there were so many days leading up to it that I’ll always remember. From making homemade rubs with my grandmother and giggling when I got cayenne pepper in my nose, to watching my now-husband fight and struggle to tie bows on our welcome boxes, to almost loosing my dearest grandfather a month before my wedding, but seeing him fight and persevere his way back to be there as I walked down the aisle. It was those memories that I will always cherish too. I married my best friend, the best person I know and it is a day that I will never ever forget.

If I have any advice for those planning a wedding, it would be this; Slow down. Breathe. Enjoy every second of the process and your day, you only have it once and it goes by so fast. You are marrying the love of your life, that’s why you’re going through all that comes with planning a wedding, so at the end of the night, if you actually got married, you did it and it will be the most incredible experience of your life. The rest is really just a bonus. A really really beautiful, yummy, fun, exciting bonus!
